In July 2026, Microsoft Edge renewed their sponsorship of Open Web Docs for 2027 with a contribution of 250,000 USD. Microsoft have sponsored Open Web Docs from the very beginning: this is the seventh consecutive year that they have made such a major contribution to our organization, representing a very substantial proportion of our total funding.
This kind of long-term support has been essential to our continuing ability to develop and maintain web platform documentation. As well as the purely financial side, Microsoft have always been an engaged and helpful collaborator, both as a member of OWD's Governing Committee and in the places we plan our work, such as the WebDX Community Group and the Documentation Community Group.
